Four Jotas, are two generations, Paulo Jorge and Juliana and children Jorge and Leonor Jorge (4J's), united by the same passion for the land, wine and vine, the intense smell of lime and lemon and the aroma of lemon verbena, more than the same blood that runs through their veins, these passions are what truly united them to develop this agricultural project with the determination, will and knowledge to create excellent products.
We started this agricultural project with an approximate area of 351,255,870,851m2 on our own and ceded land in the north of the country between the Municipalities of Paços de Ferreira, Lousada and Baião, that is, in the sub-region of Tâmega e Sousa and Douro Verde.
The production of Brut Sparkling Wine Quatro Jotas was already an old idea, and thus a sparkling wine was born from a single Avesso grape variety and with a minimum period of 12 months of aging and 12 months of maturation in the bottle, it presents itself as it could not be otherwise, as a sparkling wine with a citrus color and aroma, fresh and with fine and persistent bubbles.
As for Organic Farming, our choice was citrus fruits, we focused on the Eureka and Lúnario varieties for lemons, and for limes, the varieties chosen were Mexican and Thaiti limes, with limited production at the moment, we intend to increase production each year.
Tea is another passion that unites the members of this family, so a considerable number of lemon verbena bushes were planted on two of the plots of land. The leaves are picked manually at the first rays of sunlight and dried in a dark, airy environment, thus producing a high-quality organic tea.
